Šmarjeske Toplice
This is a green oasis of peace and tranquillity. The
local thermal water was discovered to have a positive
influence on the body and soul two hundred years ago. The
wellness centre of Šmarješke Toplice, 169 metres above the
sea level, nestles in the embrace of trees, meadows and
peaceful countryside. Clean air and the mild sub alpine
climate supplement the healing power of the thermal spring,
which rises at 32°C and is slightly mineralised, containing
magnesium and calcium. There are two interconnected hotels,
the Šmarjeta **** and the outstanding new Vitarium
Hotel****.
Guests may enjoy a relaxing day at one of the three 32°C
indoor swimming pools, which measure 12m x 12m. There are
also outdoor baths with water temperatures of between 26 and
28°C for those hot summer days. Lastly, a popular wooden
swimming pool, directly above the 32°C spring, is a unique
attraction. Should you wish to spend your day more actively,
there is a well-equipped sports park not far from the hotel
with four tennis courts, table tennis, a mini golf course,
rent-a-bike facilities, a beach volleyball court, a football
pitch and a wooden playground for children.

Toplice opened at the end of 2005. It seeks to serve all
